The R-Type Ring Joint Gasket can be manufactured in two different profiles, oval or
octagonal in cross-sections in accordance with API 6a and as Me B16.20, to suits API6B and
ASMEB16.50 Flanges. Both types have identical pitch diameter as the flange groove they
correspond to. The octagonal type has a higher sealing confident than the oval, therefore
being the better gasket of the two. The oval type is the only gasket that will fit with a round
bottom groove. Flanges with flat bottom v-grooves will accept either style. These gaskets
are designed to seal pressure up to 6250 psi in accordance with as Me B16.50 pressure
ratings and up to 5000 psi in accordance with API6a pressure ratings.
EXCEL ring type Joints are manufactured in accordance with the industry standards API 6A,
API 17D and ASMEB16.20 or to specific customer requirements. EXCEL produce Ring Type
Joints with fully traceable materials and supplied to NACE specifications upon request. ring type Joints manufactured to as Me B16.20, API6a and 17D are permanently marked
according to standard requirements.
Protective coating :
In accordance with API Specifications, soft iron and low carbon steel Ring Type Joints are protected with electroplated zinc to a maximum thickness of 13μm. EXCEL can also do the cadmium, Silver and Pea/Xylem coating.
